SAVE Endorsement Process: For Candidates
APPLICATION FOR ENDORSEMENT*
a. The SAVE Endorsement Process begins with the Qualifying Date. Based on the calendar set by the County Supervisor of Elections, only qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the SAVE endorsement.
b. After the Qualifying Date, SAVE Staff will automatically notify qualified candidates of the timeline for accepting questionnaires, which function as application for endorsement. Questionnaires are only provided to Qualified Candidates, and not before.
c. If you have previously been endorsed for the same position, see Re-endorsement, Section 10 below.
d. If you have previously been endorsed, but for a different position, you are considered a new, first time candidate and are not eligible for re-endorsement.
e. Candidates may not apply for SAVE Selects (see Section 10) as that process is solely at the rare discretion of the Board of Directors.
QUESTIONS
a. SAVE staff are happy to answer any questions you may have.
b. SAVE staff may not be able to individually meet with every candidate; however, if you have specific questions you are welcome to contact either our Executive Director or Field Director. It should be noted that staff cannot vote on endorsements and therefore have no direct say in who will or will not receive the endorsement.
*SAVE reserves the right to choose which races will or will not receive applications for endorsement. That determination is based on its assessment of the race, its impact on our priorities and whether candidates have the potential to earn the endorsement.
